Kentucky Horse Shows, LLC, Recognizes Generous Sponsors of Kentucky Spring Horse Shows

Lexington, KY – March 14, 2012 – The premier horse show management company, Kentucky Horse Shows LLC, is proud to recognize sponsors of the spectacular Kentucky Spring Horse Shows. Dates of the spring series include the Kentucky Spring Horse Show that run May 9-13, 2012, and Kentucky Spring Classic held May 16-20, 2012 at the Kentucky Horse Park, host of the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™. These shows would not be possible without their many generous sponsors including Hagyard Equine Medical Institute, Hallway Feeds, Audi of Lexington, Johnson Horse Transportation, Farm Vet, Dietrich Insurance and Sleepy P Ranch.

Hagyard Equine Medical Institute of Lexington, KY, was founded in 1876. The practice, which is located directly across from the Kentucky Horse Park, is one of the oldest and largest equine veterinary practices in the world and is known for its excellence in veterinary medicine. The Hagyard Sport Horse Program, a specialized department at the practice, serves the nation’s top sport horse athletes and brings the same level of excellent care to high performance horses that the institute has provided for the race horse and breeding industries for decades. Once again, the Hagyard Equine Medical Institute will be sponsoring the seven-part Hagyard Challenge Series, which concludes with the presentation of the Hagyard Leading Rider Bonus.

“Hagyard Equine Medical Institute is very excited to be involved with the Kentucky Horse Shows this year because the first week is an Observation Event for the U.S. Show Jumping Team,” noted Dr. Stuart Brown, President of Hagyard Equine Medical Institute. “We are happy to support this national level of competition through the Hagyard Challenge Series, and we are looking forward to watching the country’s top horse and riders compete during these events.”

Hallway Feeds is the newest addition to the Kentucky Horse Shows generous sponsors, and will be supporting the six event $30,000 Hallway Feeds USHJA National Hunter Derby Series, as well as the $15,000 Hallway Feeds Leading Rider Awards. Audi of Lexington will be returning as the sponsor for the $75,000 Mary Rena Murphy Grand Prix. The company will also continue its generous support of the $10,000 Show Jumping Hall of Fame (SJHOF) Amateur-Owner Classics during both weeks of competition.

DJ Johnson, Owner of Johnson Horse Transportation, commented, “As always I think the Kentucky Horse Show Series is obviously a great horse just by looking at their turnout. There are big numbers of horses, great group of horses, and a great group of trainers. Not only is it a great place to show, but Lexington also is a great city.”

DJ Johnson added, “I think Hugh [Kincannon] puts on a great horse show and people keep coming back. We are glad to be able to have our customers come into the show and do a sponsorship with the Kentucky Horse Show Series.

Shawna Dietrich, founder of Dietrich and Company noted, “I am pleased to support such lovely horse shows in my own back yard.” Dietrich and company is located in Lexington and they have been sponsoring the Kentucky Horse Shows for over four years.

The Sleepy P Ranch is a family run horse farm located just outside Dallas, Texas. Suzanne & BG Porter and their sons Wilton & Lucas live on the property together with the boys’ competition horses, the retirement “herd” and a few foals. The property has a 16 stall show barn, a seven stall retirement/rehabilitation barn, a full size grand prix ring with artificial sand footing, a full course of natural obstacles and numerous large pastures for turnout. The family has been involved at the highest level of the sport for a number of years, and will be sponsoring the $10,000 High Junior Jumper Classics during the Kentucky Spring Horse Shows.

“Our family has always loved the Kentucky Horse Park,” said Suzanne Porter. “The rings are great, the footing is great, and the shows are always very organized. We are happy to help the show be able to split the Junior and Amateur Jumper divisions, to help riders win prize money to qualify for National Championships.”
